U.S.-backed coalition forces shot down a pro-Syrian regime fighter jet on Sunday after it bombed the Syrian Democratic Forces-held town of Ja-Din, the coalition said.
An initial attack by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad occurred at 4:30 p.m. local time (9:30 a.m. ET), causing an unknown number of casualties and driving out SDF fighters, the coalition said in a statement.
About two hours later, a Syrian jet dropped bombs and was "immediately" shot down by a U.S. war plane, the coalition said.

Damn. That Syrian jet was hit by 14 missiles fired by aircraft from 14 different countries. Simultaneously. No wonder the pilot died.
Except, that’s not really how coalitions work.
How much longer is the United States going to continue that idiot Obama’s idea of ousting Assad? Syria is a sovereign nation and deserves to be treated as such. We shouldn’t be farting around in Syria’s politics. That is how we started the trouble with ISIS! What we are doing now is continuing bad policy.
You’re right, of course which is why if some Bahraini drops a WP mortar round into a kindergarten, NBC should report that it was Bahrain that did it. The US wouldn’t want anyone to think we had a part in that
And of course NBC should report which nation shot down the Syrian fighter jet. And report that it was a Syrian jet which was shot down.
Unless they are being vague on purpose.
The dingbats on our side still support that aim at that goal.
Are the “Syrian Democratic Forces” our friends this week? Since this happened yesterday they may be our enemies now. And then friends tomorrow and then....
