I've read "Rules For Radicals".I read the interview that that author gave just before he descended into hell.
I've read the works of...and about the accomplishments of...one Bill Ayers.I took particular note of the interview he gave to the NY Times,which they published in their 9/11/2001 morning edition.

I agree. I am sure my opinion will be discounted because I say Trump isn’t an embarrassment but I admire the way he is pursuing the nation’s best interests. He may embarrass me in the future but it hasn’t happened yet.

It’s more than knowing how to talk to the people. Clinton was glib. What makes the difference, at least in my mind, is that I always felt Reagan and now Trump loved and appreciated the American people. Bush 2 managed it sometimes. You can’t fake that. Too many presidents let slip their belief that the American people are the equivalent of the batty old Aunt in the attic or the hick cousin or a rube to be manipulated someone to be laughed at during the right cocktail parties here and abroad.

BO was malignant, and more actively destructive. The country is in a far weaker position than 1976-80, as well, so his damage ran much deeper.
We'll know in a generation or so, if we're able to recover. 4 years of Trump might stop the bleeding, 8 might start a recovery. But, I'll likely not be around to see the end of it.
