Too bad - I was hoping Rand Paul would be on at least one show so he could explain his "Health Insurance for $1 A Day" comment. If that was catastrophe only, it might come close to a reasonable price, be able to provide the coverage young people actually need, and it should qualify as "Get My 23-year-old Off My Policy" for parents.
And, when the 23-YO's go to see a doctor for a cold or sprain, they can get market pricing from the provider instead of, "How Much Do I Have To Charge To Pay The Overhead To Process An Insurance Claim?" pricing. Sort of like a free-market.

"Get My 23-year-old Off My Policy" That is not an actual problem, as it puts premium dollars in the standard risk pool, and covers a premium class that generally have good health and low claims. Additionally, they would otherwise not be likely go out and buy health insurance on their own. It should have a net result of keeping premiums down.
Getting the 23 year-old off the policy is up to the parents...or they can charge him.

Why do young people need anything other than catastrophic coverage?
