Ottawa is going to apologize and give millions to former Guantanamo Bay prisoner Omar Khadr, according to multiple reports.
Khadr — who pleaded guilty to killing a U.S. soldier when he was 15, under interrogation that was later deemed "oppressive" — will receive a settlement of more than $10 million, according to unnamed sources who spoke to The Associated Press, The Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail.
The Star said Khadr will get more than $10 million, but less than the $20 million he sought in a civil suit. Other reports said he will receive about $10 million.
The government and Khadr's lawyers negotiated the deal last month, according to AP.
Speaking to reporters in Ireland, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would not confirm any details.
Whoever approves this crap should be in a mental institution, the sooner the better. It appears the world is going from dumb to stupid at an ever increasing speed. There just is no way this can end well in the long run.
I remember when Canada was a decent country; leftist but still decent. Those days are long gone now.
I feel for the few good “normal” right thinking people in the country.
