Indeed.

Wanna know what REALLY separates the United States and Mexico?

It isn’t natural resources or a work ethic.

It is government.

For a century and a half, because it’s powers were so restricted, our federal government was the least competent at being incompetent among most governments that you might care to name.

Mexico’s was among the most competent at being incompetent.

Mexico could have had everything west of the Mississippi and south of Canada and with the same government in Mexico City would just be a lot larger basket case.

With a government that couldn’t do much for or to the people, a government that wasn’t progressive in any way, America flourished.

But with progressivism and the Arbitrary government it demands ours is now the most competent at being incompetent and it is frittering away all that was built up with it out of the way. And like any cancer everything seemed fine as it grew and festered into the life threatening disease it is now.

To paraphrase Obama: We didn’t tear that down.

In Mexico the politicians are corrupt, and police are corrupt, and the drug cartels are just what they are. With nothing to keep them in check they probably have more influence than the other two.
