Backing up a bit, what’s wrong with a little white pride and some patriotism?
True, in the past extreme versions of nationalist fervor (Germany and Japan come to mind, but also the prior centuries’ many wars of Europe) have caused trouble. But, that in effect is what we face now. Aren’t the Iranians nationalist (as well as Islamist)? Aren’t the Turks? Aren’t the Russians? Why shouldn’t we hang together for our own protection?

I used to live in an all Asian neighborhood. I enjoyed one of my neighbors but really had nothing in common with any of the others. The one I enjoyed was a third generation Asian American family. They were culturally just like my family. Their race was irrelevant.
The others were all a completely different culture. Most of them spoke very little english even though they had been here for a decade or more.
This is why I’m a strong nationalist and believe English should be our official language.
