Key GOP senator: Why was Russian lawyer tied to Trump Jr. scandal in US?
The Hill ^

Posted on 07/11/2017 9:31:25 PM PDT by TigerClaws

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is asking top Trump administration officials to explain why a Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. last year was allowed in the country.

Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson asking why Natalia Veselnitskaya was allowed to stay in the country when, according to court documents, she had to leave in early 2016.

"It is unclear how she was still in the country for that meeting despite being denied a visa beforehand and her parole purportedly expiring on January 7, 2016. This raises serious questions about whether the Obama administration authorized her to remain in the country, and if so, why?" Grassley wrote.

Remember she was denied a visa but someone in the Obama administration overrode the denial.

Wouldn’t that be under the purview of the fabulous Obama/Kerry State Department?

AntiTrump/liberal The Hill adds word ‘scandal’ - that Grassley NEVER said - to headline ‘quoting’ Grassley.

FakeNewsMedia

Good for Sen Grassley.....finding out why Dem/Clinton/0blama operative was still in country, after VISA had expired.

Because she was still needed for a Don Jr set up meeting? Because she still needed to appear w/0bama Amb at a hearing, days after DJ set up?

Get ‘em, Sen Grassley.

(And, please let us know where AG Sessions is hiding, please.)

I was really confused about where Grassley was going until I read this:
This raises serious questions about whether the Obama administration authorized her to remain in the country, and if so, why?"

Of course, the crack "career State Department employees (swamp dwellers) are still in place under Trump/Tillerson administration. Time to really drain Foggy Bottom!

The plot thickens. I love it. Throw all of the past administration in the prisons and throw away their keys.

Good catch on the fake headline.

Publishers must let an editor or some third party write headlines. I’ve often seen headlines that are totally off base with the story or even contradict it.

The fake quotation is a nice example of media bs.

I have heard that Tillerson is making progress with the State Department draining that swamp.

We saw the VA firings.

Trump is making progress. All the crazy Russian nonsense nobody cares about. Trump is moving ahead with his agenda.

Msm Dems and Rino collaborators with deep state help are attempting a coup to oust Trump. He will destroy them or vice versa. Those are the stakes.

“please let us know where AG Sessions is hiding”

*****

Sessions is unfit to serve as AG. The man is incompetent, corrupt, and/or a coward. Epic fail. We didn’t ask for much. Just someone who would uphold the rule of law.

It’s obvious why she was allowed to stay. So she could run her scam meeting to entrap DJT Jr.

This needs all who agree to email it to the White House.

AG Sessions is a sweet elderly Southern Christian gentleman with a temperament wholly unsuited for AG.

We need a Pit Bull. Gulianni is old too and doesn’t want the job, but darn, our country really needs him as AG.

NOW.

Agree.

Too bad Christie blew it with bridge gate and now beach gate. He’d have been a pit bull and was young enough.

Sessions is still a separate political player. Trump needed someone entirely committed to the cause. The recusal showed us he was the wrong guy for the job.

The real person who has to worry after today is Kushner.

Don Jr doesn’t work at the White House. He’s never filled out any disclosure form or said anything under oath.

Kushner had to fill out a disclosure form for any foreign contacts. He was in this meeting. Did he disclose it? Was he asked about it later under oath?

BUMP! Excellent points!

Yes, where is AG Sessions? I had such high hopes for him—thought he would be a real pit bull...never hear from him or the DOJ! :(

My question is: Why did he recuse himself w/o consulting Pres. Trump first?

Yup. Where’s’ Waldo Jeff Sessions? Trump needs to get Mark Levin on board now that he is a Trump supporter. We need a tough, take-no-prisoners AG who won’t take any crap from the Dems, McCain, and Graham.
