THe fun thing about the mcCarthy comparison is that liberals are convinced that Joe was wrong in every way possible. So when you say we are dealing with a new McCarthyism, they become terribly conflicted.
It’s why I bring it up.
Yes, McCarthy was right, but libs refuse to believe that, so using that label on them does its job - and makes the point that some of them get.
i.e. either McCarthy was right, or they are wrong today. Now, thinking people (i.e. conservatives) know that it is much more nuanced than that, but the left has a hard time with nuance.
Fair enough.
