The governor names a replacement until an election can be scheduled.
Bush tried that "power-sharing" tactic and it caused him nothing but trouble. He always had the votes for spending money whether he gave away offices or not.

You need 50 votes to pass something. So we need 50 of 100.
The democrats are all sitting on their thumbs. They are automatic NO votes. That gets rid of 48 votes. That takes you to 2 votes !
So given that they need 50 of the 52 Republican votes, McCain is essential !

Seems like a good strategy but I would not want a Rat running interior. Trump believes in delegation and wouldn’t want to turn Interior over to a Dem.
