The European Union is allowing members to restrict sales of inflatable boats and outboard motors to Libya in an effort to stop dangerous migrant smuggling across the Mediterranean.
EU foreign ministers agreed Monday to allow member countries to ban such export or supply "where there are reasonable grounds to believe that they will be used by people smugglers and human traffickers."
A statement said the measure will also apply to boats and motors transiting through the EU, but not to fishermen or others with legitimate need for them.
The foreign ministers also agreed to extend a border aid mission in Libya through the end of 2018 that helps Libyan security forces, notably in the lawless south.
Migrant crossings from Libya to Italy on unsafe boats have climbed in recent weeks.

Interesting that Obama’s “Arab Spring” did nothing but create millions of refugees, as though this was part of the plan.
Stupid move, costs companies money.
The best solution is to sell them, but then seize them, sink them, and hang the captain if they come across the Mediterranean full of rapefugees.
So they pass a couple of laws. They create a black market in rubber rafts. And then they all go home feeling like they’ve made the world a better place. If ignorance is bliss it must be wonderful to be a euro-weenie politician.
Attention, you now no longer have to supply rope to your lynching party!

Can’t they just improve them by including something like a time-release hole?

A couple of years after the migrant flood, they stop the boats from being sold there.
Barn door, escaped horse.
However, .......sales of 8’ 2X6 boards, remain robust!
Sinking a few would be ever so much more effective.

follow the money or in this case who holds stock in rubber boats and outboard motors companies
Nobody panic! The sales of inflatable goats are still going through much to the relief of migrants.
How about confiscating all the NGO’s ships that transport them to Europe, and charge the crew and sponsors with human trafficking.
Meaningless, they are coming from Asia, not Europe.
Yes block the hole/holes with glue that is not waterproof.
