Calling it a “blood clot” does not mean it was a simple obstruction of a blood vessel. That could be mitigated by various blood thinners and by treatments by various other medications to clear away the clot. This was simply an euphemism for something that was much more serious, and may in fact, be much more life-threatening than has been publicly acknowledged.
The cancer that had afflicted his face and head has metastatized. But then, I was always one who looked for Occam’s Razor, the simplest explanation was probably the most likely.

Correction. He has been a clot on the body politic for 40 years.
His behavior has been suspect a lot longer than 20 years to some of us. ;-)
