I had a buddy who worked at a McDonalds on a university campus.
He’d give the city cops free coffee, but refused to serve it to university police officers.
“Free coffee is for REAL cops!” he told them.
That didn’t sit well. He moved on soon afterwards.
Well, the police were really good about coming when we called during the bar hour shift, after midnight.
The management wanted to show them our appreciation.
This McD’s would just write off the food as a loss. They were more interested in a good relationship with the police than the money.
