You are assuming it was free market before Obamacare. Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, FEHB, CHAMPVA and numerous federal and state regulations all existed before Obamacare.
Yeah, but at least there was a private market for health insurance before ACA....not now, the wife and I are forbidden from buying the policy we need. (HSA type high-deductable, no “EHB’s”). Sad days in American when you cannot purchase a normal legal product.
