As we scroll through our Timelines and see the myriad of posts about Trans rights and Trump's latest ban on transgender individuals in the military, something like this makes us stop and double back.
Kelly Sharp wrote an opinion piece for Eagle Rising on Jewel Shuping, a woman who identifies as "transblind," claiming she felt destined to be blind and purposely poured drain cleaner into her eyes.
WHAT?
The video attached to the article feels like something straight out of TLC's "My Strange Addiction." There are some mental or emotional imbalances at play but it begs two questions:
1) Why would someone do that to themselves?
2) Why is this labeled "transblind." Trans rights are on the front line of media coverage and political debate right now. This is insulting to the present issue at large.
Shuping claims the narrative often heard from actual transgender children. The ones that say "growing up, something just didn't feel right. I didn't feel normal. I wanted to be a girl/boy." Shuping says her mother used to tell her that if she stared directly into the sun she would go blind. She wanted to be blind so badly that she would stare at the sun for hours on end.
The whole story is cringe-worthy. The worst part is this happened back in 2015 and for some reason has resurfaced to a viral sensation status.

These trans people are so screwed up that they are now arguing who has the right to use the prefix "trans". Ever wonder what they think of the word transmission? Oh right, they wouldn't know that auto part from the stick shift. Pun intended.
She is full dumbass
Did she try a blindfold first? That might have deterred a partially sane individual.
She’s just trans-sane.
STOP Discriminating! The Transblind have every right to serve in the armed forces on the battlefields fighting for this country- So what if they can’t see who they are shooting at? So what if they slow down their troop’s movements? So what if they are a burden? It’s their ‘right’ to serve!
Give you 5 to 1 odds she kills herself in 2 years.
Be better off if she just stuck the ice pick all the way through her so called brain, that way she could be TRANSDEAD.
As they need to charge anyone engaging in the malpractice of encouraging "sex change" operations.
This is just another sub catagory of "Body Dysmorphic Disorder"
It is a mental issue, and trying to invoke a physical "cure" is malpractice.
I’m 77, but feel like I’m 25. Can I say that I’m transyoung?
Can we bring back mental hospitals..?
You joke, but I think the shutting down of mental institutions in the 1960s is what caused the queer explosions of the late sixties and early seventies.
They used to lock people up for being queer. It was regarded as a mental illness for most of this nation's existence.
No, it is clarifying to the present issue.
Jewel is every bit as sane as those who claim that they are the opposite sex.
In fairness Jewel is far saner than you and your transsexuals because she actually can become blind. There is no way that someone can become the opposite sex.
Y'all are nuttier then a fruit cake sans fruit and cake.
And the rest of us normal people are tired of being abused because you can not accept reality.
Very mentally ill
This is tragic; no sighted person can truly know what it is like to be blind. When the novelty of this wears off, when she truly realizes there is no blindfold to remove so she can see again, that this loss of sight will go on and on and on and on for the rest of her life, that there are so many losses to not being able to see, so much more than just having a white cane and feeling her way around everywhere, then her heart will break.
They should make her head of the DNC then it could be the blind leading the stupid.
I’m speechless...(really I’m not, but what I’d like to say about this nutcase, I might get me banned).
I hope she removed her ovaries too.
CC
Might also be said about men who wish to become women...
I can’t remember what show did a whole series on “transdisabled”, like a woman who intentionally wore braces though not disabled and a man who took steps to successfully remove a limb.
