I'm not surprised that Google and Facebook make a lot of money from advertisers, but I've surprised about hot much they have cornered the ad market.

Well something needs to be done. When almost 90% of the information searches are controlled by a leftist organization that is a problem. Google it” had become part of the culture.

Both the Google and Facebook founders built their companies from nothing and because great American success stories.

Leave them alone.

No regulation is needed.

Jonathan Taplin agrees, he’s a commie who wants you to pay more to buy things online.

At the very least they need to be prohibited from discriminating against content.

First Amendment protections need to be applied to the entire communication systems. We should not tolerate Liberals freezing us out of the communication systems.

Totally against this - let the companies be.

But... just to twist the knife, per se...

Maybe they SHOULD be regulated as utilities and be subject to the same network neutrality laws they want... like no blocking of content.

Just wait until Comcast MSNBC starts labeling and blocking out its customers from websites like FreeRepublic.com as "hate sites".

They are corporate monopolies of an incredible valuable commodity; Access to the American public.

They cannot be allowed to discriminate based on content.

First amendment rules must be applied to their information "carrying" system as well.

Oh goodie, more government regulation of what people and companies do.

Some is necessary. Too much is bad. Not enough is worse.

If the Government hadn't cracked down on Standard Oil, there would be no other company in the United States. The Whole nation would have become a subsidiary of Standard Oil.

The major powers in the information industry already block out most conservative access to the public. The internet has opened up new means of us communicating with the public, but these new means aren't nearly as powerful as what the Liberals control and have the ability to censor.

Utilities are regulated because they can operate as a monopoly in a geographic are and you cannot get a permit to build or live in a house without having water and electricity service.

A person can live just fine without Google or Facebook.

And as far as I know, I am not required to use Facebook or Google.

Amen...Mr. Bannon.

There should be a plain English, one-click, option to delete personal data from the database at Google and Facebook.

The power Google and Facebook has over the world is blasted unreal. Not sure if govt. is the answer though. Maybe some transparency?
