“Twenty-six percent of those who watched fewer games last season said that national anthem protests, some of which were led by Colin Kaepernick, were the reason.”
Even ESPN admits the truth. Besides being a 2-14 loser, Kaepernick is bad for the bottom line. I hope he finds something positive to do for the world, although that turnaround would require a miracle from God. As for football, I hope he never again sets foot (or knee) on the field. Choices should have consequences.
It’s also the same reason teams didn’t want Tebow. He was going to bring a lot of distractions to the locker room.
That wasn’t Tebow’s fault, it’s just because of the way people feel about him. He didn’t encourage it, like Kaepernick does. But it is the same reason owners didn’t want him.
On the other hand, Tebow has been great for the Minor League baseball teams he’s playing for in terms of generating publicity.
The other factor is getting bombarded every day of stories about NFL players being arrested for domestic abuse or other crimes.
Also the stories about the long-term affects of concussions are taking a toll.
Kids are not gravitating to the NFL. As fans die off, they will not be replaced.
Kaepernick has cost the NFL owners MILLIONS. Back up QB’s are a dime a dozen. Who wants this albatross around their neck?
