Officers do not swear an oath to anything other than the Constitution. They certainly don’t swear to obey the orders of the officers appointed over them. The Admiral is wrong.

LOL! Their oath implies they will obey lawful orders - this guy pretty much said he would fulfill his oath and by doing so, indicated trust in his Commander in Chief.

Show me a Lt. that disobeys a Col and doesn't have his career destroyed and then try again.

Right here smart ass - I was a LTjg that told a Navy O6 to get off my bridge as OOD (U/W) on USS NIMITZ. He left. The ship’s CO told him never to challenge one of his OOD’s again. Care to try again?
