There has been shift in the language that the U.S. Department of Justice is using in its press releases, and it’s not sitting well with some. The DOJ, under the leadership of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, has now begun using the term “illegal aliens” to refer to immigrants who do not have the proper paperwork to be in the United States.
Advocates for immigration reform contend that the term “illegal” is a “racial slur” and believe it is dehumanizing. Instead, they prefer if the term “undocumented immigrant” is used.
“They’re using a legally inaccurate term that’s deployed to unfairly label and scapegoat people who are out of status due to a variety of systemic circumstances,” Xakota Espinoza from the Center for Racial Justice Innovation, told LawNewz.com
Most major news outlets have not used “illegal immigrant” for several years now.
“The i-word is legally inaccurate, politically loaded, dehumanizing to the people it describes and likely unintentionally fuels racial profiling and violence directed toward immigrants,” Espinoza said.

Head spinning stupidity.
Illegal aliens are people who overstayed their student or tourist visa or who just waltzed in.
Immigrants are people who applied to be Americans in their home country, paid their fees, waited their turn, learned the language and complied with the laws.
It’s about time we took back the language from the Ministry of Propaganda.
Let’s split the difference:

If an alien is in the country illegally, he’s an illegal alien. Enforce the law. Deport them all.
How about they all get deported home then they can call themselves anything they want.

control the language, control the argument.
The difference between an alien and an immigrant, IMHO, is that the alien is only here for a short while, while the immigrant will make the US his permanent home.
It is about time we disabused these people of the notion that they will get to stay in the country permanently. So Illegal Alien is preferred over Illegal Immigrant.
They really ought to put some ice on those hurt feelings.

Since there have been and still are ILLEGAL ALIENS coming here from China, India, Ireland, Mexico, Central America, Africa, and the Middle East! Not all of these people are of the same race, religion, and sex. So how is the correct term, "ILLEGAL ALIEN" racist? They came/come here ILLEGALLY !

An illegal does not lack a damn thing, they are just here illegally. No one offered them any paperwork nor did they apply.
Lol! There are scads of Irish and Austalian and English and Russian illegals in the US also. And we will throw them out too with great enthusiasm. So we are not racists.
