Time for Trump to Get Rid of McMaster
The American Thinker ^ | 08/04/17 | Eileen F. Toplansky

Posted on 08/04/2017 6:13:40 AM PDT by pgkdan

Apparently, President Trump was not aware of the decision by national security adviser H.R. McMaster to grant senior Obama official Susan Rice top-secret security clearance. This disturbing news was revealed by Sara Carter of Circa News, who documents the letter that notified Rice that such powers gave her "unfettered and continuing access to classified information and waiving her 'need-to-know' requirement on anything she viewed or received during her tenure."

Carter asserts that "[t]he undated and unclassified letter from McMaster was sent in the mail to Rice's home. Trump was not aware of the letter or McMaster's decision, according to two Senior West Wing officials and an intelligence official, who spoke to Circa on condition that they not be named."

I hereby waive the requirement that you must have a 'need-to-know' to access any classified information contained in items you 'originated, reviewed, signed or received while serving,' as National Security Adviser[.] The letter also states that the 'NSC will continue to work with you to ensure the appropriate security clearance documentation remains on file to allow you access to classified information.'

***SNIP***

According to Rush Limbaugh, "[w]hen McMaster was chosen by Trump to be the national security director, Never Trumpers in the conservative movement and establishmentarians in Washington all celebrated[.] In fact, the establishment Washington loves [McMaster]." That alone should have been a warning sign.

***SNIP***

The kicker is that it was Senator John McCain who recommended McMaster for the position.

Also from the article. If true this indicates direct insubordination to the President.

Consequently, as documented by Daniel Greenfield, "McMaster had purged Derek Harvey, one of the NSC's best people on the Middle East, for trying to fire Obama holdovers." In addition, "Bannon and Trump, according to White House officials, pressed McMaster to fire a list of Obama holdovers at the National Security Council who were suspected of leaking to the press. The list of names was compiled by Derek Harvey, a former Defense Intelligence Agency colonel who was initially hired by Flynn. McMaster balked. He refused to fire anyone on the list and asserted that he had the authority to fire and hire National Security Council staff." Greenfield explains that "McMaster keeps using that authority to purge patriots from the NSC. Rich Higgins, a top official of the National Security Council was fired last month after arguing in a memo that President Trump is under sustained attack from subversive forces both within and outside the government who are deploying Maoist tactics to defeat President Trump's nationalist agenda."

Who was advising Trump about his transition and New Team picks, obviously he could not be experienced enough to do it by himself?

So it begs the question why is he still there, or, is he still there because this is fake news?

I do not think Trump is in the dark.

McMaster misrepresented his positions on issues to the President to get selected for the position and works against our national security every day. Borderline treason and some can argue he crossed that line already.

He has no integrity and can no longer be trusted. According to leadership in the agency, he is prone to temper tantrums and is impossible to work with.

McMaster should be sent to the North Pole patrol immediately.

Inexperienced.. reminds me of another prez. Anyway, i see your point, but trump has been bffs with the clintoons and used politics for personal gain, like Pelosi and co. So I’m not sure I give him a free pass, yet.
Why accept the responsibility of POTUS, if you can’t do the job? Isn’t trump someone who fires incompetent folks for entertainment? In this area he has been a total failure, and should have been smart enough to fire the advisors.. question is, why doesn’t he?

I do not think Trump is in the dark.

I totally sgree. Mr. Trump is known for enjoying divergent opinions on his staff. The best decision is always based on the most available information.

Trump can deal with McMasters mindset. And besides, McMasters is culling out those in his group that might actually agree with the President. Thus he is winnowing down to a tight little group of Never-Trumpers.

Nice to have them where you can keep your eye on them.

Another Freeper said mcmaster was recommended by McCain.. so he is a plant, at best. Time to separate the wheat from the chaff, if trump is serious. If he continues to fail in this area, we have to ask why. You can’t just drain the swamp, you have to cut off the source of the rot.

Let’s use the Flynn yardstick on McMaster?

Has McMaster made full and timely disclosure of his actions?

If not, it is a personnel “matter” that may need further inquiry.

Does the NSA have a field staff?

Does the NSA have a black-ops budget or is the agency limited to “advising?”

While I disagree entirely the McMasters gave Rice access to classified information because she is under being looked at as a leaker/unmasker, keep in mind that the classified information McMasters gave her access to is information she created or used in her job at the WH. She does not have access to current and new classified information or information she did not use or see previously. Her access is limited. But again, as far as I am concerned she should have no access until the unmasking investigation is finished — just like Hillary should not have access because of her careless handling of classified information on her server.

What are you drinking? Do you really think it is a good idea to allow McMaster to get rid of all of Trump’s loyalists? Trump needs all the loyalists he can get at this point since the masses are gunning for him.

I’m sure there’s more to what is being reported by WHY IN THE HELL WOULD HE ALLOW SUSAN RICE TO KEEP HER SECURITY CLEARANCE? Trump needs to over-ride Kelly’s decision to keep McMaster. He is clearly a never Trump mole and needs to go NOW!

The National Security Agency is in the Department of Defense.

The National Security Advisor (McMaster) is part of the Executive Office of the President.

The two are confused by journalists because they both have initials ‘NSA’.

It was a very bad hire. I remember there were tons of comments on FR that were against him. I didn't know at theh time that McCain was pushing him but I did know that he was of the 'religion of peace' persuasion and that made up my mind.

“keep in mind that the classified information McMasters gave her access to is information she created or used in her job at the WH.”

She has zero need for such access. Especially since she used access to secret information for political gain.
Ask any USN Nuclear sailor if they get to retain access to the information they used or created when they leave the navy.

You get a pat on the back, and a threat of prison if you ever are found in possession of that information again.
