The biggest difference between the two is over how production is controlled.
Communism runs business directly from the central committee and it fails primarily due to the overwhelming nature of the task and because of inherent government inefficiency and corruption.
Nazism used the existing corporate/business structure and personnel and just ordered them to achieve the results the hierarchy wanted. This is a much stronger economic system than communism (which is the worst system imaginable) but will always fail eventually because it is totalitarian.
What Obama was doing is extremely close to how fascism (Nazism = fascism + nationalism) operated in practice. The Obama/Clinton version was being called corporatism to mask its true identity.

An easy way to remember how to Nazis allowed people to own property as long as they did as the Nazi government directed is the example of Oscar Schindler (in “Schindler’s List”) who owned manufacturing plants and made helmets and guns for the Nazis.

Then there was this dairy farmer in Mecklenburg GE who had a dozen cows, they took eleven and left him one. Had he not agreed the local commissar would have shot him. He had lived through the war and the Germans Govt. didn’t take any of his cows. The Nazis needed their farmers, and they paid them. Unlike the Kulacks of the Soviet Union, they were just shot and buried in mass graves if they didn’t die of mass starvation. Someone here recommended “The Forsaken” by Tim Tzouliadis”,as a great read, now I’m recommending it. Get a used copy on the internet. Nazis had great uniforms, great parades, great weapons, and did very bad things, but they are GONE! The Commies are still out there, and they are far stronger, numerous, and dangerous than the so called Neo-nazis of today. There are “Animal Farm” Governments still out there, and as you can determine, we are heading in that direction. The Pigs have to be contained, before they take full control.
