From a Baltimore Sun article:
The public learned from the first questionable video released this summer that Baltimores body cameras are continually recording a short loop of footage even when theyre turned off, so that when an officer activates the camera, the device preserves the previous 30 seconds of tape, though with no sound. Thats why we were able to see Officer Richard Pinheiro appear to place a baggie of drugs in a soup can in an alley, walk back to the corner, turn his camera on, walk back and find" the drugs.Baltimore Sun article:
Wow,
I’ve heard that Baltimore cops aren’t the cream of the crop, but wow.
I live 30 miles north of Baltimore. My office is based there but I work at home or on the road.
The office is in a gentrified area and has been pretty safe until recently. A street thug murder on the campus two weeks ago has everyone on edge, as it should.
Maryland doesn’t help at all because they don’t allow honest citizens the right of self protection with firearms. The second Amendment does not apply in Maryland. Our liberal lawmakers know better.
In reality, it looks like you’re on your own.
A few years ago, on a trip to Mexico, our driver saw some cops and said he didn’t know if they were police, cartel or both.
That's the thing about this that I find so funny. They were busted big time because they didn't understand the tech they were using. Sadly, they won't be making this mistake in the future. Now they know better.
