A 62-year-old man was arrested for threatening Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) over the GOP effort to repeal and replace Obamacare in a note that read, “ If I’m going to die….I will take you with me,” police said.
Richard Holley, who was arrested in Clark County, Nev., on Monday, faces charges of extortion, burglary and intimidating a public officer, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
An alarm at Heller’s office went off on July 16, and police arrived at the scene to find a note at the door, which read, “Sen. Heller, I am sick and will die without continued medical care,” according to the arrest report cited by the Las Vegas Review Journal.
“If I’m going to die because you voted to repeal or replace with a death bill, I will take you with me. If I’m going to die so are you,” the note read.
The suspect, who was caught on surveillance cameras, was described as a heavy set white adult male with a gray beard, according to the police in a public appeal.
An anonymous tip suggested the man might be Holley, although a booking photo released Monday shows the 62-year-old dyed his hair and beard bright red.
