Trump Says ‘Alt-Left’ Shares Blame for Charlottesville Rally Violence
NBC News ^ | August 15, 2017 | Andrew Rafferty

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump told reporters Tuesday that the counter-protesters demonstrating against white nationalism were also to blame for the violence at race-fueled riots in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend.

“There are two sides to a story. I thought what took place was a horrible moment for the country, but there are two sides to a story,” the president said at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

He also said the statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville was "very important" to the people who participated in the march, and asked whether opponents of such monuments were also prepared to take down statues to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson because they, too, owned slaves.

"I wonder is it George Washington next?" he asked.

His remarks double down on his remarks Saturday, threatening to undo any goodwill the president received by denouncing the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis during a statement at the White House on Monday. The president was criticized for what many, including politicians on both sides of the aisle, saw as an initially tepid response in which he said “many sides” were to blame for the violence that killed one woman and injured 19 other people.

Trump defended the 48 hour delay Tuesday, saying he “wanted to know the facts” before condemning the white nationalists. He then equated the white supremacists on the right to the “alt-left.”

Trump & his crew obviously hang out here, /pol and T_D. Hey Donald, here's a free one:

"Fake news continues to support mob violence and assaults on basic civil rights."

How about another:

"The deep swamp believes it can intimidate citizens exercising their constitution right to free speech through the threat of alt-left violence."

And so on. Develop a long list of nouns & adjectives that both label the opposition, while painting supporters in a supportive light eg freedom fighters, etc. Pick and choose appropriate words as desired to build a narrative that fits with the current calendar of events and media focus.

This sh!t is easy - the hard part is having the 'nads to say what everyone thinks in public. Those that shun this duty are simply outing themselve as fellow enemies of the people.

I wonder how that will fit with her new desire to be a ‘preacher’?

There’s an awful lot of stuff in the Bible about humility, refusing to judge others, bearing false witness, &c.

OH! And that stuff about the rich man and the eye of the needle!

I guess you CAN put lipstick on a pig, but...

“Trump defends Racist protestors......”. CNN banner

DJT future tweet:

"CNN defends violent professional anarchists".

So, so easy; boring actually. The fun part is getting out there and sparring in public.

https://www.infowars.com/watch-live-alt-right-alt-left-clash-in-charlottesville/

This gal saw Antifa and BLM throwing urine, feces, paint at those she said were assembled peacefully with a permit to be there to protest the tearing down of the statue of Robert E. Lee.
She asked the police why they were not doing anything to stop Antifa and BLM from the violence. The police replied that they were told to stand down.
If you go to this link and watch the first video, she explains what she saw.

Thank God you got out of there before any one could accuse you of being a racist. Let me know where we can meet up at the next Antifa shindig and I am sure there will be about 20,000 freepers there to join us. First, though, we gotta figure out a form or something to make sure there are no “stealth Nazis” in the crowd. We gotta have a way to screen these folks. And the Kinko’s bill is gonna be outrageous because I am already getting thousands of freepers bmailing me on when and where we can get together with them. So far I have just been telling them to look for the giant crowd. But we gotta screen them. They gotta swear an oath they ain’t really actually White Supremacists that just wanna have acid squirted in their eyes or get a skull fracture from a bike lock for giggles. Because you and I know that is just how dumb these KKK hillbillys are.
And we should have a real easy version of the form for Jews, Hispanics, and Blacks because there is just no way the BSM can claim that those folks are racist. But we gotta have some carefully crafted questions to delicately tease out those pro abortion agnostic Conservatives. We don’t want to be associated with them. And maybe we can get the forms chemically treated so even if you lie about being a pot smoker the form will just turn black and you can’t join up with us.
Man. I can’t wait. I wanna be right there with you and Sargon and all the rest that know for a fact we can do this and don’t need to stinking help from anyone. I wanna be there and see the look of utter horror when they face the wrath of Constitutional COnservative Freepers who have had enough. Off the Barcaloungers! To the streets! Today the remote, tomorrow the WORLD!

It’s a lot of fun to be verbosely clever; but you could say what you mean straightforwardly, instead of in a sly way that is meant, at heart, to insult other people.

I have been absolutely straightforward for days and no one gets it. Sometimes a little humor and sarcasm makes the point so much better than logic.

Actually, the FBI no longer infiltrates the KKK because they are so weak. A friend of mine in the FBI said that they knew they were whipped back in the 1980s but it was politically impossible to drop the infiltration program even though it was mainly dues from the FBI infiltrators which kept the organization afloat. Once Clinton got elected, the program was quietly dropped and THE major source of revenue to the KKK dried up.

We can’t MAKE people understand things.

We just have to put our points in the clearest terms possible, and have faith that some people will ‘get it’.

It makes no sense to alienate people. I understood your points, but sarcasm and humor are often very personally received - there’s no way of knowing how others will take them.

Trump is not the idiot, you are misinterpreting everything involved and making very ignorant uninformed statements and accusing Trump of shilling for the "alt right nazis" which is absolutely ignorant and an idiotic thing to say, which makes you the idiot.

sorry if the truth hurts, you are welcome to make a U-turn, apologies will be accepted

Trump is an idiot. He said that there were good people on all sides. Sorry, but there were not. No good people march with Nazis. No good people march with Antifa.

See: https://www.c-span.org/video/?432633-1/president-trump-says-blame-sides-violence-charlottesville

He's not a slick politician talking out of both sides of his mouth. He tells it like it is, especially in that news conference. He specifically said that there were "very fine people on both sides", then went on to describe the fine people protesting the removal of the statue. The rest of what he said was also accurate.

The “alt Right” and “white nationalists” have already been tried, convicted and sentenced to death in the court of public opinion and Trump has been successfully aligned with them.

Trump has successfully aligned himself with the rule of law, the equality of everyone under the law, and the equal protection under the Constitution of even those "sentenced in the court of public opinion".

Because, the court of public opinion is the tyranny of the majority. Trump is right to fight against that.

I have looked and looked and not seen one KKK robe, not one KKK person dressed as such. As for neo Nazis I have only seen one photo if it was even took there that day of a young guy saluting, so where the hell were all these people since the cameras were all over.

In all seriousness, don’t you think that if the next tie Antifa showed up at an event if they were outnumbered ten to one we couldn’t get 0bamacare repealed the next day? Tax reform the day after that? Seeing Antifa outnumbered ten to one in the streets would put a little steel in the spine of those squishy RINOS. Make the Schumers and Pelosis and the Maxine Waters type more than a little nervous. I firmly believe it would. And there is no reason we can’t do it and being afraid we would called Nazis, IMHO, is not sufficient reason to stay home.

Both sides came looking for trouble, both sides started in on each other, both sides bear equal responsibility for the violence.

Absolutely! That's my point. The media are only wanting to talk about one side and are condemning Trump for discussing both.

No. With all respect, I think you are wrong.

The ‘antifa’ represent such small numbers that they would be rendered a nonentity if NOBODY showed up to counter them and give fodder to the news cameras. (And most of them are NOT dedicated ‘revolutionaries’ - most of the ones who are not just ignorant adolescents acting-out, simply represent a ‘rent-a-crowd’).

By trying to fight this fake ‘movement’, you are playing into its hands and giving it validation.

They are tempting you, and you are falling into the trap.

(And the entrenched politicians don’t care what goes on in the streets - they have their agenda, and the money they’ve pocketed for promoting it. They are going to vote their interests regardless. Why don’t you get all those people to clog the pols’ phone lines and mailboxes, instead of going out into the streets? That would probably sway them far more than a skirmish in the streets would - because they already KNOW that the street provocations are FAKE - and I assume they DO want to get re-elected...)
