Seahawks Doug Baldwin wonders why sitting for anthem is bad when fans curse, yell and wear hats

During a Tuesday press conference, Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin was of course asked about his teammate, Michael Bennett, and Bennett’s decision to sit during the national anthem.

It's not ok twinkle toes but we do not pay them so we have no control over them. Just like it would not be ok if you went shirtless and painted yourself orange or whatever your team color is.

And he made a salient point, one that’s rarely mentioned: why is it that some of the same people who condemn Bennett, and before him, Colin Kaepernick, are ones Baldwin sees in the stands at games, not standing at attention while the song is being played or performed?

He made a fictional point.

How would he know that the ungrateful and ignorant slobs in the stands who are disrespectful during the playing of our National Anthem are the ones that condemn bennett? This is not a likely case, at all, and everyone (everyone) knows it.
