Steven K. Bannon, the swashbuckling former Goldman Sachs banker and press baron of Breitbart news who calls himself Chief Strategist of Trumps historic campaign, is in deep trouble within the Trump White House.
To be clear, I am no fan of National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster whose globalist views and hires are negating the foreign policy the President ran on.
I am one who had publicly defended Bannon from false charges of racism and anti-Semitism yet I have concluded he is a spent force, never being willing to spend his political capital to help his friends and in some cases helping empower the very Globalists he claims to oppose.
In fact, I rather like Bannon who has his roguish charm. I am proud to write for Breitbart and I did his SIRIUS radio show many times. His Libertarian-tinged world view is much like mine, yet we both understand the threat of Islamic terrorism and the consequences of open borders.
I even named Steve one of the Ten Worst Dressed Men in the World in the 2015 Mr. Stones International Best and Worst Dressed List. The tradition of the list was picked up from the late Mr. Blackwell and its now in its eleventh year. Bannon was so proud of the award that he forwarded the link to his friends.
It is more in sadness than in anger that I conclude that Steve Bannon has failed to look out for the Trump constituency, while establishment never Trumpers line up for cushy jobs and prestigious ambassadorships. Not understanding that personnel is policy, Bannon refused to fight for any of his allies or those who helped get Trump elected. Its as if Steve felt the grubby business of patronage was below him.

If he backs down on illegal aliens and enforcement, he’s toast.
His tweets today are all about immigration enforcement.
Nick, you’ve been saying since the beginning that Trump was a fraud.
Like Deep State McMaster?
Who does not think Islam is a threat.
Not with this boss. Bannon was a self inflicted wound. He did it to himself.
Honestly, I think most people that voted for Trump have no idea who Bannon is. We at FR know because we follow politics, but most people aren't like this. Not happy that Bannon is moving on, but Trump could perk up the base by firing McMaster, which absolutely needs to happen.
Jared, Ivanka, Dinah Habib Powell, Priebus, Gary Cohn, Tillerson, Mattis, Chao, Kelly, etc.—were all very bad hires on Trump’s part. But McMaster is likely the worst hire of all.
He’s got almost all liberal Democrat neocon globalists in now. If he trusts them we are in major, major trouble.
He really screwed the pooch on that. Hard to imagine that anyone, especially in the position he was in, could say that the Norks have the most powerful military force, in the history of the world, backed into a corner. That was pretty damn stupid.
I read that and was reminded of something I read a long time ago, from a Canadian columnist(I think it was) about how the US showed restraint with it’s military actions, after the 9/11 attacks. Tried looking it up, but couldn’t find a link. But, for the most part, the author stated that the US could turn, pretty much, every country into a parking lot, whenever it wanted to. And the fact that that pile of rocks in Afghanistan isn’t, is a testament to our restraint.
Pepe, we hardly knew ye.....
True. Another decision on Trump’s part. The first one was hiring Scaramooci. Now this. I think Kelly is the muscle behind this maneuver.
