Drudge has a siren headline.

This is an INCREDIBLY stupid move by Trump. The one thing Trump cannot afford to do is alienate his base. And I can’t think of anything he could do to alienate his base more than to dump Bannon.

Yes, will be curious to see how this is spun. Timing says a result of last weekend, gives everyone more blood in the water to encourage more attacks against Trump. Bad trend.

I've been telling people that Bannon is a fraud for a number of months now. There are many good reasons to believe this, but people have their tribal affiliations and do not so easily break free of them.

Bannon brought this on himself by spreading the disinformation that McMaster had given Susan Rice security clearance, even though all he gave her was access to her own work product as was necessary, especially if she was going to soon be testifying.

Stone's criticism of Bannon here is completely correct and accurate, and should not be a surprise to anyone who remembers Bannon's hijinks during the Trump campaign.

Sadly, Bannon, like most professional conservative pundits, was only interested in one thing: self-aggrandizement and money.

The honest among us are far and few.

Take the medicine folks. It tastes bad but we need it.

I doubt most of his base has even heard of Bannon.

If they weren't alienate when he made Reince Priebus his chief of staff, they wouldn't be alienated if he put a hammer and sickle on the flag...

Trump will be fine, he’s getting the leakers and selfish people out. He will bring in more people he can trust.

Honestly, I think most people that voted for Trump have no idea who Bannon is. We at FR know because we follow politics, but most people aren't like this. Not happy that Bannon is moving on, but Trump could perk up the base by firing McMaster, which absolutely needs to happen.
