Lots of good advice but written at too high a level for the intended audience. IMO, ghetto culture, not race is the greatest obstacle to success. Success for blacks in America is actually quite easy as long as you follow a few simple rules. 1- Get the best education you can. Study hard, take it seriously, learn how to do well on tests, take advanced courses. Also, learn to speak well. Standard English, not ghetto slang. 2- STAY OUT OF TROUBLE. Do not commit crimes, a prison record is incompatible with success. That means keep away from drugs, even Pot. It impairs your ability to function, kills brain cells and in most places is still illegal. 3- Go to college. Decide what you are interested in. Major in something real, not a humanity. 4- Whatever job you get along the way, do it well. Develop a good work ethic. Show up on time, be conscientious, develop a reputation for dependability and trustworthiness. That’s all it takes. Business will beat down your door.
Thank you. Seriously, no one from the intended audience period is going to read it. You could probably count on one hand how many black ghetto youth log onto FreeRepublic.
Item number 3 is easier said than done, given the economic realities of the inner city poor...
