the fish started jumping all over the lake!!!(???).

Apparently the dolphins near the CA coast swam to the surface five minutes before the eclipse, then went back into the ocean five minutes after (reported on Fox). Pretty amazing!

It was so nice and refreshing to see the country focused on something positive.

This composite image, made from 4 frames, shows the International Space Station, with a crew of six onboard, as it transits the Sun at roughly five miles per second during a partial solar eclipse, Monday, Aug. 21, 2017 from , Northern Cascades National Park in Washington.

Full eclipse here.

Cousins came down from Portland to see it. They just left, intending to take the back farm highways to the metro area.

Yeah, I'm south of St. Louis and we had totality for just under two minutes.

I am in central Illinois with about 95% coverage. It was like going from a 100W light bulb to a strong night light. The sun was still strong enough to cast a shadow. The temp dropped about 8 degrees. It was kind of eerie. I saw the total eclipse on the Jackson webcam. It didn't get noticeably darker until they were in the total eclipse for the 2 min duration.

IRT your 83. I suspect that picture will make it to NASA APOD in the near future.

I remember the eclipse in ‘79 and there was nowhere near the hype, hoop-la and mass ‘amazement’ associated with that celestial event compared to today’s. Back then, people found it to be interesting but nothing to get so emotional about.

100% in Bryson City, NC...clear as a bell...lots of puffy cloud banks on the horizons. One small cloud approaching about ten minutes before totality made a few people nervous, but it evaporated in plenty of time. My wife and I brought along a white sheet to observe the ‘shadow bands’ that appear just before and after totality...very cool. All in all, worth the two-hour ride from East Tennessee.

I’m here in central MO. As it moved into totality a couple of clouds happened as the air grew cooler. Then it cleared and was amazing!!!

Since you asked that I post some pics, here are a few from yesterday up in Cherokee, we lucked out with almost totally cloudless skies, taken with a cell phone camera. The black area was overwhelmed by the brightness of the corona on a cell phone quality camera, I guess, but they're still very striking images:

I-81 was a Roman chariot race yesterday...

While on Monday afternoon/night/Tuesday morning I-65 and I-71 were like the ADD ox cart race. Not very fast and stops regularly when distracted from the race.

For everyone, if interested, check out this link (interesting data on temperature drops, and a great vid from space of the Moon’s shadow racing across the US, as viewed by the GOES-16 weather satellite):
