I heard one retired military officer on tv saying the whole culture of the Navy has changed in the past eight years. For example, to make room in the Navy Academy for these social change courses having to do with racism, deviant sexual practices, sexism, etc., academic courses such as navigation and security have been affected in a negative manner. He said there is a large block of that stuff made mandatory in the curriculum of all military academies. They teach the philosophy “the computer is God,” and the hard core US Navy traditions are being by-passed. He may have a point. I would add that although women can certainly do the job, mixing sexes and homosexuals into the crews reduces efficiency and that special rapport that a good fighting team always exhibits. They are obstacles to a unit’s fighting spirit.
