Recruiting ads for the Washington State Patrol have been showing up on the conservative site Breitbart, and the police agency says they’re not happy about it.
A Reddit user first pointed out the ads to the state patrol Monday. The state patrol responded, saying the ads are placed using an algorithm based on people’s interests.
That means if someone likes law enforcement and conservative news on Facebook, the algorithm would think they are related and start posting the ads in similar places.
After looking into the issue, a spokesman for the patrol said some of the content on Breitbart is not what they want to be associated with, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
The state patrol is now asking the Seattle-based ad firm they use to stop Breitbart from running their ads, according to the Tribune.

We live in Washington state. My youngest boy wants to go into law enforcement. He bemoans the lack of LE college scholarships that aren’t targeted to certain demographics. I guess it’s not racism if it’s against decent, white Christian boys.
The WSP has a manpower problem. They are having real trouble finding recruits. They’ve been using the ad agency to get the word out. There are billboards all over the place in the state, asking qualified candidates to join.
Given our far-left governor and the equally far-left legislature, why would someone want to be a Washington state trooper?
Agree. If the WSP “leaders” don’t want conservative cops, we know that they are not interested in law and order, but only interested in political correctness, bathrooms, and new gender names.
Those “targeted” ads. recruiting and scholarships are racist and unconstitutional and illegal on their faces. We should demand NO PERSON means exactly that, NO PERSON, and that INCLUDES WHITES, MALES, CHRISTIANS and HETEROSEXUALS
Compete and succeed. Merit only. No quotas, no “preferences” no “affirmative action” no “strength in ‘diversity’”
uh, yeah. Breitbart is “controversial”, but the 100% negative fake news articles about Trump based on 100% “anonymous” sources that are spewed daily from WaPo, NYT, and CNN in lockstep are just straightforward “news” reporting, right?

Mynorthwest.com is a hard left news and opinion site based in Seattle, but reading the comments is usually more like a thread on FR. I post there quite often (Brian Oblivion) and the conservatives outnumber the commies by a huge amount.

Based on personal knowledge, the primary purpose of the WSP is to cover up public corruption in the executive and judicial branches of government in Washington State.
The WSP has a corruption problem and new troopers are quitting when they discover that fact.
