Charlottesville covers Lee and Jackson statues with black shroud

Workers in Charlottesville, Va. shrouded statues of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee and Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson in black on Wednesday as the city grappled with an outbreak of deadly violence at a white nationalist rally earlier this month.
Workers used ropes and poles to hoist what appeared to be a black tarpaulin over both statues as onlookers took photos and video. Some in the crowd surrounding the Lee statue cheered as the cover was put in place.

Ya know, we make all these jokes showing the absurdity of what is going on, but the reality of it is that the AMERICAN TALIBAN is winning. Thanks to our leaders, whether because of ideology, fear of being called names or just plain cowardice in the face of anticipated discord are taking those statues, monuments, whatever, down......and we, myself included, just sit and type leaving a vacuum that is filled by neo-nazis and other miscreants.
