Many judges see racism in everything. Voter ID laws are needed in every state.

Texas AG Paxton's full statement:

AG Paxton: Texas Will Appeal Today’s Voter ID Ruling

Wednesday, August 23, 2017 – Austin

Attorney General Ken Paxton today promised to appeal a federal court decision granting a permanent injunction against Texas’ voter ID law (Senate Bill 14). Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos also issued an injunction against Senate Bill 5, the revised voter ID law passed during the recent regular session of the Legislature to comply with the 5th Circuit’s prior ruling.

“Today’s ruling is outrageous. Senate Bill 5 was passed by the people’s representatives and includes all the changes to the Texas voter ID law requested by the 5th Circuit,” Attorney General Paxton said. “The U.S. Department of Justice is satisfied that the amended voter ID law has no discriminatory purpose or effect. Safeguarding the integrity of elections in Texas is essential to preserving our democracy. The 5th Circuit should reverse the entirety of the district court’s ruling.”

In a court filing earlier this month, the Department of Justice (DOJ) asked Judge Ramos to end efforts to overturn Senate Bill 5, noting that the law “eradicates any discriminatory effect or intent” and expands voter identification options when it takes effect January 1. Texas’ voter ID law “both guarantees to Texas voters the opportunity to cast an in-person ballot and protects the integrity of Texas’ elections,” the DOJ told Judge Ramos.

Last year, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals remanded the case to Judge Ramos to assess the impact of any future legislative action, like Senate Bill 5.

I bought concert tickets recently. The tickets say, “Picture ID needed for admission.” (I need to get my 15-year-old son a state ID card.)

I guess the Oppressed never go to concerts.

U.S. District Judge Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ruled that the law was enacted with the intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters, saying that it violates the Voting Rights Act.

Lunacy reigns.

“U.S. District Judge Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ruled that the law was enacted with the intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters...”

IOW - a federal judge apparently believes that black & brown folk are not sufficiently intelligent enough to obtain adequate ID.

That’s racis!

Texas and any other state that has its voter ID laws rejected by a federal court should just ignore the ruling.

As usual, liberal judges and law trump everything...
Sick of this.

When do we fight back? When do we play the same dirty games? No, we just take it, take it, take it...

So.... what a judge imagines the legislature’s “intent” was, versus constitutional and statutory principles?

If Voter I.D. laws are inherently racist, all I.D. laws are racist.

Prove you live in that house ... racist.
Prove that’s your money you are taking out of the bank ... racist.
Prove that is your car you are taking ... racist.

Fine. Then pass a 1yr mandatory jail sentence for vote fraud. If illegal alien then deportation upon release.

So, are they going to strike down these laws in other states, like Alabama? No, because they don’t have jurisdiction, and any such decision would be overturned on repeal. The Demonrats are DESPERATE to maintain SOME voter fraud in big Democrat cities. It’s the only way they can win national elections.
