What Dak Prescott does with a cup during a game could reveal about his character

The Cowboys quarterback is no slouch -- and apparently a stickler for details

NOTE: there is a short video at the site

Let's dive in on some armchair psychiatry on a Monday morning following a Cowboys victory that made it quite clear just how much this team really is Dak Prescott's. Tony Romo is a wonderful person and a wonderful quarterback, but the torch has been passed.

And there was a brief moment on the sideline of Sunday's game against the Ravens where you could argue that Prescott's character was revealed in a very small and subtle way.

The Cowboys rookie quarterback was sitting on the bench and drinking a cup of water (or maybe Gatorade) and when he went to throw away the cup in a trash can behind him, the cup landed on the ground. Unlike most of his passes against the Ravens -- Prescott completed 75 percent of them for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns -- he was off on this throw and missed the target.

And unlike many people in that situation (he and the Cowboys were trying to close out a tough game against a physical Baltimore team), Prescott apparently wasn't content to just leave the cup on the ground.

Did Prescott have any idea the camera was on him? Probably not. Would anyone care if the cup stayed on the ground? Again, probably not. Is this reading too deep into the action from Prescott? Maybe.

But he's the king of the world right now (the quarterback of America's Team, anyway), and he's led the Cowboys to a 9-1 start to the 2016 season that has him shattering records for rookies and looking like the future of the Dallas franchise. He can do whatever he wants on the sidelines. And he still took the extra second to pick up the trash that someone else would have handled.

At the very least, it tells you Prescott's the type of guy who does the right thing even when he thinks that no one's looking (although in his life everyone is probably always looking) and it tells you he has a serious attention to detail.

It also tells you that the trash can is terrible at running the curl route. Fortunately Dak has Dez Bryant to do that.

Good for the Cowboys. They have set the tone for honoring the flag. Have any of them taken a knee?

That’s awesome.

But I gave up on the NFL. Clearly the guys are not 100% bad. But close enough.

This article is actually from last year. I’ve Been a Cowboy fan since 1960 when they first were formed. Dak Prescott is a heck of a man and the Cowboys haven’t had any protesters. I just can’t say Jerry Jones putting up with that

Jerry Jones has told the team that no Cowboy will sit during the National Anthem or they will be fired.

It’s their choice.

Always loved Pete Carroll from his USC days. Unfortunately, Bennett and others took a knee. I can’t believe he didn’t stop that crap. No longer Seahawks fan. And, of course, Rams and Chargers suck. Perhaps Cowboys are my new team.

I won’t post this one here, but you might enjoy this link. Why do so many Browns have the same last name? https://twitter.com/DCCogan/status/900529205766610944

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is a bit of a flake, but these are the shoes he wore for the September 11th game last year against the Dallas Cowboys:

The NFL threatened to fine him for wearing shoes that don't meet the league's regulations for footwear, but I understand they backed down on it after a lot of public criticism.

Prescott’s a good kid and a real talent; however, he’s no Aaron Rodgers.

I’m waiting to see how well Prescott plays without Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield.

Prescott also had the one of the best offensive lines in the NFL last year.

I want to see how well Prescott plays when that line starts drifting back towards average, which is where every great offensive line always ends up.

If he’s still a franchise QB after that, then hats off to a quality player and a quality young man.

Roger Goodell and the NFL front office is a bunch of gun-grabbing baby-killers, who REFUSED to let the Dallas cowboys wear an armband commemorating the Police Officers murdered by the Democrat last year.

Yet, they have NOOO problem with people disrespecting our flag, our military, and our police officers.

Fortunately, Dak Prescott has shown himself to be, quite possibly, THE GREATEST QUARTERBACK OF ALL TIME. Aaron Rodgers? Tom Brady? Both system quarterbacks.

If Mr. Prescott had been drafted by the Cleveland Browns, THEY'D have gone 13-3 and a bye in the playoffs.

Breitbart had a piece up last night where Ha Ha Clinton Dix wrote the names of fallen police on his cleats and wore them during the game.

I dunno how the hell he got a name like that.

I don't have any inside knowledge myself, but there are those around here who would opine that Aaron Rodgers is not one that, uh... the vast majority of us FR guys would want to emulate.

I'll say it like that and let those who have more knowledge of the situation contribute where I'm not able to.

Anyway, Dak seems like a good guy and a good QB also. I'm happy to hear Mr. Jones lay down the law about his team. Just strictly coincidence but someone who is associated with the Cowboys lives near me here in my hometown.

Unfortunately the league under Roger Goodell is making a run for the crapper, and the 800 elephant in the room that no one is talking about is CTE. I believe that it's real.

I predict that football will wane in popularity at all levels, and in time will be, what's the word I'm looking for?

Over?

I wrote a letter 2 weeks ago to the Seattle Seahawks basically telling them that they had a choice.....Keep Bennett on the team and lose my family as fans or cut Bennett and continue to benefit from the golden geese ie; the Kahuna Klan $

In correct written English, an acronym was placed in parenthesis after the meaning was written out; it was never assumed the reader knew the meaning of the acronym. Just a thought.
