Funny, implementing it happened with an executive order stroke of the pen. I see no commitment to bold action. And I see the generals like Mattis doing everything they can to slow things down.
I remember the old days when a General would be utterly ashamed at having homos there in his force and would have acted swiftly at the first hint he could discharge them all COG. Trannies would have been mentally ill utterly depraved unthinkable.
Well, not really. The "participation" of gender challenged individuals in the service has been around for a lot longer that either of us would care to admit. Sometimes kept in the closet, and at other times quite open.
I can recall a Vietnam vet army warrant officer and pilot in the 80's who went through his "transformation" (on his own dime on believe) and continued to fly UH-1s at Ft Rucker until he/she retired. It was weird, but it happened. And his/her unit officers and men didn't seem to have an issue with it.
I'm not condoning it, and I really don't agree with it, but in that case, apparently it worked. Legally I have no idea how they made it work what with the UCMJ and all, but it did.
Whats really annoying is that the same folks who were ecstatic to have Mattis appointed because of his career accomplishments and reputation are getting their panties in a wad because they want to get this right.
I don't agree with the alternate lifestyles of LGBT, but as the adults in charge, we can at least be professional and thoughtful in how all people are handled.
It's like Obamacare. Put it in place without a word of trouble. But dislodge it? No way! The elites have decided how things will be, and that is how they will be.
