The March to DC from Charlottesville, Va., started with nearly 200 marchers Monday, but by Tuesday morning there were only 35 marchers. Over 200 people came together today to take a stand against bigotry and hate, march organizers said on Twitter. Were marching from #Cville2DC. Join us: cville2dc.us.
The overnight rains were enough to keep all but about 35 from marching Monday morning, the day after the pep talk when police escorted the group from Emancipation Park downtown Sunday.
We have started the day! the group tweeted shortly after 10:00am. We have about 35 folks marching against white supremacy.
Despite the drastic decrease in numbers, the group still declared a victory, saying not rain nor sleet nor snow nor hail will stop us from marching from #Cville2DC.
The march was planned as a direct response to the Unite the Right rally held earlier this month in which protesters and white supremacists clashed, resulting in 19 injured and one dead in the violence that followed. This is the time to confront white supremacy in our government and throughout our history, the group says on its website about the march. We demand that President Trump be removed from office for allying himself with this ideology of hate and we demand an agenda that repairs the damage its done to our country and its people.
The group planned out the route that takes the remaining marchers north on US-29, until they reach Interstate 66. They will then make their way to downtown Washington, D.C., where the march will end. The 10-day march will begin at 9:30am each morning, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals will be provided. In addition, the marchers will be provided with housing, and a security detail will follow the group, according to the groups website.
The synchronized goose stepping must have wore them out early.
For American SJW’s what’s important is the thought and emotion, not the action or the reality.
That reminds me of the Great Peace March of 1986, in which demonstrators set off to march from Los Angeles to Washington, DC for the cause of Peace. When it reached DC, the march was expected to swell to around four million. In a left-wing newspaper, one admiring writer gushed that when that happened, the politicians would have no choice--they would have to "give us peace."
I attended the send-off celebration in downtown Los Angeles on March 1, 1986, as a counter-demonstrator, and we were joined by some refugees from the Baltic States protesting the Soviet occupation of the region. Up on stage, some liberal female rocker was crooning about "gay and straight marching together," which brought wild cheers.
However, the marchers should have thought twice about starting during the rainy season in California. Soon after they departed LA, it began pouring rain. They actually made it to a camping spot off Sidewinder Road, between Victorville and Barstow, Calif. but there the march finally drowned in the mud.
While most of the marchers drifted away at this point, a few hard-core activists managed to drift across the country and were feted by the mainstream media when they finally reached DC. But for weeks afterwards, when we went out to counter-demonstrate, we would tease those on the other side of the barricades about going to Barstow.
...The 10-day march will begin at 9:30am each morning, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals will be provided...
Somewhere along g the way a burger and fries will be irresistable.
Sunshine Anarchists.
Hopefully some Virginia patriots will be smoking brisket along their route. Just to make ‘em drool.
>The 10-day march will begin at 9:30am each morning, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals will be provided.
What a bunch of sissified morons who could not feed themselves with a cookbook and raw materials.
Just imagine if they had to storm Lookout Mountain.
Idiots.
they will be marching down 29, also known as Lee Hwy.
march will begin at 9:30am each morning,

That is getting an EARLY start for the majority of them.
If they make it to DC, theyll be forgotten - that is, if they show up there in the first place.

I wish. I fear the Rent a mob and D.C. Gimmes will join for final day march into D.C. That is all the media will cover and infer it was the entire March.
“The 10-day march will begin at 9:30am each morning, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals will be provided...”
Welcome to Hell.

That's a non-starter right there.
I posted a comment yesterday that they wouldn’t last 25 miles. I over estimated them!
"Vegan? I'm going back to Greenbow."
The modern left does love - free sh*t, that is.
Fear of losing its true love drives them to be meaner than a junk yard dog.
The original goals sounded idiotic.
I’m not surprise folks dropped out.
It said, “Even the illiterates are protesting now!”
