In a couple of years, owners will be looking at the shattered, worthless remains of their franchises and wondering what the Hell happened.

Our owner (Shad Khan - Jacksonville Jaguars) supposedly stated the other day that he would consider Kaepernick.

If true, it shows how out of touch he is with the residents of this active/retired military town.

Sorry Rush but I heard of him. He was also the starting center for the Univ. of Washington when they won the national championship in 91.

Can’t say I agree with Ed on this though.

And you wonder why Roger Goodell—who was supposed to get an extension of his contract to be NFL Commissioner through 2024 as breathlessly reported by Left-leaning ESPN—has yet to get his contract confirmed. Is it because both Robert Kraft and Jerry Jones, the two most influential owners in the NFL, are “behind the scenes” preparing an owner revolt that will push Goodell out the door?

And that woman in the NFL booth during the Vikings/49ers game wearing that cocktail dress; black, off the shoulder with a split up the side mid-thigh? What the heck was that?

Not that I would, or that I really care about him, but for the sake of a conversation, I'm going to ask:

If someone asked Kapernik today, "I understand you're protesting, you're not happy about something...if I were in a position to mend those things you're protesting, what would I have to do to satisfy you, to get you back in the game...without protesting, of course?"

Would he be able to answer?

I gave up on the NFL when this first started.

Never watched a pro game last year and don’t plan to this year.

That’s what happens when the owners chose to be in league with those who want them destroyed. I have no sympathy.
They thought to partner with the crocodile so that he eats them last. What a bunch of losers!

the NFL has already ruined the game and made it unwatchable.

If the NFL can’t figure out how to do the few things that would return the game to popularity and safety, too bad for them.

What the NFL should do:

Get rid of replay. It’s just a game, including the calls. Get rid of a lot of the penalties. Jump offsides or move early, blow the whistle and line up again. Second offense before the play gets run is 15 yards and penalized player goes to penalty box for 2 minutes.

Get rid of helmets and pads. More women would immediately get interested and the bad injuries would drop dramatically.

I don’t get this. The players these days really are, in my opinion, trying to hurt their opponents. They should reduce the amount of pads and go back to leather helmets. It’s too easy to use yourself as a human missile when you’re all padded up.

I have my differences with the NBA, but they got the national anthem rule correct.

H. PLAYER/TEAM CONDUCT AND DRESS

(1) Each player when introduced, prior to the game, must be uniformly dressed.

(2) Players, coaches and trainers are to stand and line up in a dignified posture along the sidelines or on the foul line during the playing of the National Anthem.

http://www.nba.com/media/dleague/1314-nba-rule-book.pdf (3) Coaches and assistant coaches must wear a sport coat or suit coat.

Sounds like he had other factors involved. He offered to resign in the spring too over the layoffs.

He has a lot of other projects going also.

Just may be some virtue signaling mixed in.

Having worked for the Chief of Neuropathology,as well as with Neurosurgeons and Neurologists,of a world famous hospital I have an opinion on this.

Scientific research on the general subject of sports and brain injuries/brain damage either will,or will not, show a connection. Those unfamiliar with how medical research works should understand that the results of a single study, even one done by a well known and well respected researcher,is never accepted as "gospel" on the particular issue at hand. The results of such a study must be reproducible by other researchers before a basic conclusion is reached in the medical community.

I don't know how many studies on this subject have been done but one can expect a number have been done and will be done because brain injuries from all causes (accidents/falls as well as sports) are a huge problem in medicine.

Politics...from Marxists *or* conservatives...shouldn't enter into this.

I bet Rush is a tad happy he got frozen out in his attempt to be part of a syndicate trying to buy a team some years ago. Sometimes his commentary smacks of it.

So, is ESPN going to report on this guy as a hero...all while showing and cheerleading football? If they believe in Cunningham, ESPN should never show football again.

Demographics will kill off the NFL in due course anyway. The average age of NFL watcher is over 50 already, and the percentage of fans watching who are under 18 is near single digits. Millennials are abandoning the sport. At the pro level at least. The glory days are long gone already.

“But Cunningham, 48, resigned from one of the top jobs in sports broadcasting because of his growing discomfort with the damage being inflicted on the players he was watching each week. The hits kept coming, right in front of him, until Cunningham said he could not, in good conscience, continue his supporting role in football’s multibillion-dollar apparatus. ‘I take full ownership of my alignment with the sport,’ he said. ‘I can just no longer be in that cheerleader’s spot.'”

50 guys will try to take his place.

And my former QB, Jay Cutler, is delaying his lucrative and easy broadcasting career to keep playing.
