Americans work harder than any other country’s citizens: study

Start up the grill. Get the burgers and chicken going. And start imbibing. You deserve it, according to a new work study.

“We’re hard workers. We deserve the day off,” says Liz Bagot, a spokeswoman for NationalToday.com, which conducted the survey of 2,000 Americans.

It turns out the average American works harder than our Japanese counterparts or the average European worker.

“Statistics show that Americans work longer hours than the majority of other countries — 137 hours per year more than Japanese, 260 per year more than in the UK,” according to the study.

By the way, when the comparison is made between the average French worker and the average American worker, we’re talking vive la différence. The American worker records about 500 more working hours per year than his or her French counterpart.

“It’s the reason we can say ‘Thank God it’s Friday.’ Labor Day is a time to celebrate the benefits we enjoy at our jobs — including weekends off,” Bagot adds....

America, if your work your butt off you pay the government

If you are lazy, the government pays you.

Even so, we cannot possibly survive without infinity third world immigration forever; or so I’m told by my betters.

It doesn’t mean they are working.
For example, we hear how many hours the Japanese put in the office, but somebody told me that there is a lot of off time, while at the office. They just don’t spend a lot of time at home.

Some of it is good and part of our ethics. Some of it lately is a result of a crappy economy and a lot of service jobs.
People who have jobs put up with a lot in order to -keep- them. In a better economy they would look for something better.

Can't be.

We are lazy, doped up, fat, uneducated and stupid.

That is why they have to import all these people to replace us.

National Review told me so.

Work is a way of life in Japan. Homes are too small to hang out.

When I was healthy I never had a hard time finding a job here in Dallas/Ft Worth, Biloxi or Des Moines.

Israelis hold their own, but yes, if you multiply hours worked times productivity per hour, the US tops them.

Different places are different but in general you're right; NO ONE wants 2b seen by his/her peers are leaving first, or simply leaving before one's subordinates. Soooo many people play around at their desks, pretending to work.

The guy whose super efficient but leaves when he's really DONE? He'll often be tarred as LAZY. The guy doing nothing but consistently leaves last? "Oh, wow, that guy really works his tail off..."

Totally stupid.

It's like stupid law firm games where you go into the office on Saturday for 10 min simply to put hang your blazer on your chair, "Oh, wow, that guy came in to work..!"

Except that most of Japan is doing it.

Sure...The United States....

--accounts for 15% of the global energy output yet it...

--consumes 18% of the global energy output

BUT...THE USA TURNS AROUND AND

--produces only 16% of the world's carbon output (yea, I know...fake science...please work with me)

--generates 25% of the global GDP

.....with ONLY 4% of the world population.

So, net-net-net, the US is taking all these factor inputs and, on the backs of vibrant, energetic, entrepreneurial, full of grit-and-determination INDIVIDUALS, punching above our weight to bring more abundance to our nation AND the world.

So we will keep flying and burning up jet fuel and producing. If you got a problem with that..well...here is our Spokesman...

The economy is actually quite good if you have a marketable skill.

I used to be able to get my work done and leave. Whether that be 4 hours or 6 (I’m part time.) Last few years I’ve been thrown in an office where it’s mandatory 6. Full time mgmt puts in 10-12. I could never see myself sitting under flourescent lights in close quarters that long with either negative, crabby people or those who expect you to be witty and carry on small talk. Nobody should have to spend more time with co workers (some of whom you might detest because they’re bass turds and swear a lot) than they do their own family. JMO.
