You believe that businesses should price their goods and services at or below cost during an emergency?

If you decide to run an online poll on that, prepare to be shocked by the results.

Government should be out of the “business” of regulating businesses and the more government interferes with the free market the worse things become for the consumer. Let competition determine best business practices. If Delta for example decides to price gouge and you are upset then the next time fly a different airline. Even write them a sternly worded letter if you want, but having the government interfere with free market principles only gives you Venezuela eventually.

American have become so used to government promises of indemnification against All Things Bad (including evil Republicans) that I wouldn't be surprised if the public expected all airlines to drop whatever they are doing and fly every Floridian out to safety - for free.

There’s reasonable response to an increase in demand due to a weather event as far as price hikes, and there’s profiteering verging upon piracy in response to an increase in demand due to a weather event. What we’re looking at isn’t reasonable. I hope the people who are being gouged have a very long memory and tell everyone they know. These airlines are not winning themselves any converts, that’s for sure.
