You are conveniently forgetting that the so called conservative hawks in the “Freedom Caucus” voted Ryan for speaker. It’s beltway kabuki and you are swallowing all their BS. LOL.

Unfortunately, the Freedom Caucus makes up a small minority of House votes so they alone are incapable of delivering conservative legislation for the POTUS to sign. Recall also how nobody in the GOP, including Paul Ryan, was really interested in the soon-to-be-vacant House Speaker position at the time. The party had to practically beg Ryan to take the job because it was believed no other candidate was going to receive majority House vote support, so he reluctantly did. I’m pretty certain the Freedom Caucus simply chose to bite the bullet and vote for Ryan as a show of party unity.
By the way, can anyone believe that at one time Paul Ryan was highly regarded, even here on FR, as a Tea Party Conservative?
