House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked President Trump on Thursday to tweet that DREAMers should not be worried about being deported in the next six months, a Democratic aide told The Daily Beast. “Pelosi told her colleagues at a whip meeting this morning that she spoke to Trump this morning via phone and asked him to tweet this to make clear DREAMers won’t be subject to deportation in a six-month window,” the aide said, referring to Trump’s decision to end DACA, the Obama-era program that shields DREAMers from deportation. Later Thursday morning, Trump tweeted: “For all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the 6 month period, you have nothing to worry about—No action!”
On Thursday, Trump talked with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Schumer by phone. Pelosi said she asked him to tweet assurance to “dreamers” that they won't be deported in this six-month limbo period. And he did.
“[I said] I'm going to ask the president to do [this] and — boom, boom, the tweet appeared, so that was good,” Pelosi told reporters Thursday.
Is this part of a larger plan from Trump to try to get strong border enforcement? Obviously this is for only the 6 months, but Trump's seemingly new coziness with "Chuck and Nancy" is concerning to me if he's going to be using it as more than a tool to whip the Republicans in to shape.
I notice Trump is getting more favorable press all of a sudden, and that may be alluring, but SURELY he knows he would have had that favorable press all during the campaign and early part of his Presidency had he either ran as a Democrat during the campaign or had he governed as a RINO since he got in. He didn't do that. I hope he's not changing. Trump drew massive crowds, flipped Dem states, and won the election because people didn't want a Democrat or a conventional Republican. Most voters were Republican and loved that he was willing to stand up to the GOP establishment (that may be what he is doing now but I feel uneasy with this). They loved that he was willing to say the things Republicans wouldn't say - fight the media and the establishment, and they loved him/love him for taking the slings and arrows for it. If Trump ever started working with the Democrats in a way that advanced a Democrat platform (he's now talking about eliminating the debt ceiling with Chuck Schumer), the Democrat base will never like him and will put their own Sanders or Harris in in 2020. The Republicans, however, will not like him so much either and vote for him.
I am for him sticking it to the GOP establishment because of the way they have treated him, but remember, the Democrats have treated him even worse. I know - it's not the same because it's not his party and they are supposed to hate, but there are Democrats right now trying to get him impeached and accusing him treason, cruelty, racism, etc.
I think this is Trump’s version of the ‘Barzini meeting’.

I don’t know what the hecks going on but I sure hope this does not result in amnesty for illegal aliens, I don’t care when they arrived or their age, but they and their families are illegal and should be deported. Not given a amnesty.
I think it seems clear to me at this point Trump wants to keep the Dreamers. Now, I think he wants things in exchange for doing so, but anytime he makes a deal with Schumer and Pelosi (this is the second time), they always wind up happy much to Republican chagrin. My hope is he is trying to light a fire under the Republicans, but we’ll see.
These snooty elites don’t look upon these illegal aliens as competition.
But, that’s what they are in the real world. Americans are completing for jobs and the government is on the side of the alien. They take the American Dream and change it into their Dreamer free handout plan.
A big problem is that speaking Spanish has become a job requirement for Americans who never learned a second language in school.
A tweet is not policy or law.
Let’s see how this plays out.
This whole mess has been drug out so long, that I think that Amnesty is a given.

There’s no reason to infer otherwise, especially given Trump’s tweets and actions as of late.

If this is true about Pelosi telling POTUS what to Tweet,it’s like a revision of the Godfather where Fredo yells at Michael Corleone saying,”You don’t come to Las Vegas and talk to a man like Moe Greene like that”,and Michael says,”You’re right Fredo,I’m so sorry”.
So many tens of millions need to go back.
Just think: By returning to their native lands, they will force a fundamental change.
After growing accustomed to our relatively honest system of governance, they will hold their elected leaders accountable. Finally, the racist caudillos will be pushed aside and the people given a voice.
The cartels would be made extinct, the gangs genocided, mordida would be punishable by prison, and an era of peace and prosperity would spread over that country.
Our culture of accountability and moral ethics will be effectively be sown across not just Mexico, but all of central America too. The hemisphere is made profoundly more stable.

I sure hope the President realizes that the democrats don’t honor any “deals” they make. As soon as his back is turned they’ll shove the knife all the way in and start twisting.

Dreamers? Why do you fall for deceptive labels. They are illegal aliens. And, they are not kids.
I really like that.
I don’t know if it possible to change those countries, but returning all those honest, hard-working industrious, educated people could only help.
It would be good if people could realize that this is OUR country and that is THEIR country. Whatever country they are a citizen of would benefit from their return.
So would ours.
