Have you seen the Internet photos of the skimpy meals being given by the Red Cross to those in Houston shelters? Surely they could do better than that with so many grocery chains donating tens of thousands of dollars worth of food to them. Sad that the former presidents’ fund is being given exclusively to the Red Cross, instead of dividing it to go to different charities, as the Trumps have wisely done with their million dollar gift.

Knowing the Red Cross they’re probably reselling the groceries to North Korea.

Reference the ‘skimpy meals’ - Red Cross response vehicles that are initially deployed have limited on board cooking facilities and food stock. It could be that the meals were from the initial vehicle and crew cooking what they brought in with them and that they had not yet received a resupply from the donated food on trucks that were enroute to the flood area.

Also, one needs to look at the number of people to be fed in the shelter compared to how much food the response vehicle was pre-stocked with, thus a ‘skimpy meal’ may mean rationing what was available so that all the refugees would have something to eat, rather than the first through the line having a whole lot of food, and the folks at the end of the line having only empty trays.
