Hurricane Irma and Climate Change: Al Gore Warned Us
yahoo ^ | September 8, 2017 | Tufayel Ahmed Newsweek

When Al Gore’s climate-change documentary An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power opened to less than $1 million at the box office in early August—coming in 16th place in its first weekend of wide release—the right-leaning media was quick to dismiss it as a “bomb.” The sequel’s takings, the likes of Fox News noted, were far below its Academy Award–winning predecessor, An Inconvenient Truth, released in 2006.

But to dwell on An Inconvenient Sequel ’s box office receipts is to the miss the point. The film’s message—a warning wrapped in the guise of a blockbuster movie experience—is no more critical than it is right now.The devastation of Hurricane Harvey in August has flooded the city of Houston. In the first week of September, more tropical storms are already foretold to cause even more chaos. The Category 4 Hurricane Irma has ripped its way through the Caribbean on its way to Florida, while Hurricane Jose is tipped to closely follow behind it in ravaging several Caribbean Islands. A third hurricane, Katia, could hit Mexico by Saturday morning. That country was just hit with a major earthquake Thursday night.

The back-to-back disasters may not be directly caused by climate change, but the intensification of global warming certainly played a factor, scientists say.

Will Algore announce that he’s running for President?

We have had 14 years without a major hurricane to hit the United States. Hurricane Sandy was not a major Hurricane. It was costly but not a major storm.

Using the logic of cause and effect, 14 years of global warming have kePT the hurricanes away. It is obvious that we need much more global warming to keep future hurricanes away.

Al Gore is a liar, and charlatan.

Ridiculous. No amount of human industrial restriction would prevent Irma. It has nothing to do with it.

Drop Algore into the Irma eye...that’ll knock her down to a tropical depression.

The inconvenient truth is that both Harvey and Irma are coincidental storms - by coincidence Harvey arrived over Texas just as there were no significant fronts to steer it on its way, so that it sat there and rained - and by coincidence Irma is taking a path that keeps it over warm tropical water and away from significant land masses that would slow it down and sap its strength - we don’t need man made warming to explain either one.....

It was costly but not a major storm.

NY and NJ coastal areas were devastated with the flooding. People still are waiting for aid. Parts of Manhattan were underwater, including the Battery Tunnel and the subway system. The New York Stock Exchange was closed. The water came within a few blocks of my home-I live about 2 miles from the sea. I had no electricity for a week and worst of all-the only ginmill that is walking distance from my home closed for 2 months.

I’m wondering... How does the Global Warming worshiper explain 12 years of no hurricanes hitting the US? I mean, what, because we installed a bunch of windmills and solar panels, Gaia gave us a break for nearly an 1/8th of a century?

Yep no doubt about this guy....a recent march in my town had the abortion rights, gay rights and climate people all marching together. Seems they all are cut from the same cloth and have the same goals....no science about it.

[[They are asking the questions so they can report “a majority of people think it is due to climate change”.]]

A majority of uneducated (in the field of science) brainwashed people too lazy to put the time and effort into checking out the FACTS for themselves, think climate change is man made so I guess that passes for science now

If the liberals don’t stop their sinful ways, we are going to have more hurricanes and earthquakes.

The inconvenient truth is that prior to 2017, the U.S. had gone 10-12 years since a cat 4-5 hurricane made landfall here.

Where was THAT inconvenient truth during those years when we had a literal hurricane drought, when, we were told such storms were getting “more frequent” and they had actually became less frequent.

Now with mother nature sort of playing “catch up” it’s again to every storm “proving” the climate political agenda of “more frequent storms”, when in fact, anything in a single year does not substantiate “more frequent” particularly against the backdrop of the drought in extreme hurricanes we had the last decade.

In Voltaire’satirical novel, Candide, the Grand Inquisitor of Lisbon assured the government that earthquakes were the result of not burning enough heretics

Riiiiiight. The same “climate change” that saw NO major hurricanes hit the US for over a dozen years.

Is this she? Notice the frequency of these type of "articles" are being reported by people of Middle Eastern origin?

This weekend coverage of Irmageddon is going to be brutal in its attribution of climate change. The level of blame DJT will be ascribed will be well past total.
