Are you in denial? Trump is an economic nationalist or at least he ran as one. You missed the whole campaign?
Mostly correct. He also ran as someone who was serious about securing the borders and deporting illegals; something most Americans desperately want and they want it yesterday, no, 70 years ago.
What we are seeing though as this presidency evolves is someone soft on immigration; at least soft on deporting illegals. I understand the limitations our laws place on him but what I understand even more is those who have played by our laws/rules who have applied the legal way to enter legally; watch our government allow those who stole their way into our home be allowed to stay and eat our food, raid our wallets, and take our jobs.
What does this extreme mixed message tell the world about how we enforce our immigration system? More importantly; why is the anchor baby loophole still open. A carefully crafted clarification of this misunderstood loophole from the emancipation days would close that nasty loophole.
I like Trump. I want to continue to support him but unless we see serious movement on fixing the biggest problem facing America today, the invasion of those who don't belong here, my support will wane.
Allowing the DACA adults to stay undermines our system. That 800k number will quickly become 2 or 3 million as they bring their relatives from other countries in. Another thing that needs to be changed.
