Our ability now to project is miniscule compared th then.

There is no way today we could raise $25,000, collaborate on the design and message for a Washington Times full page, and get it bought is just a day or two.

Yes we knew about Bin Laden and were even discussing him two days prior here on FR. What idiot called you a liar — I would have slammed him.

You are not alone. The second the second plane had hit WTC Tower 2 that it was a pure act of terror.

Had just seen on the Drudge website that a son of Obama Ben Laden is planning to unite the terrorists worldwide.

My dad was friends with him as well as General Moore.

It is all right now. But at the time it made me very angry.

It is really not important, but I was using that to express why I am so thankful for the things that happen here.

Some other sites have one person driving the content. They do a good job in many cases. But nothing is as powerful as open honest discussion. (yes, sometimes they become arguments)

Joint effort builds past what one individual can direct. This is a real gift.

Well, he was a great man. I did not know about him, but these men must be remembered.

Does anyone remember the poster Jeep-in-Mazar. He had just left Afghanistan prior to 9-11.

Yes. What happens here is an addiction. I plead guilty to that.

Many made fun of social media. I started with Twitter in 2009 with the Iran Election event.

Now it has such reach that the Left is frantic to try and filter us out.

I have close friends in Syria. I’ve referred some of them to specific discussions here. They are amazed that we knew much of what was actually happening in Libya, Egypt, Turkey and Syria all the way back to Sep/Oct 2014 when Kobani took place.

The problem with Twitter is filtering. It helps here that the troublemakers are policed. It is a hard balance.

FR is still the best there is.

Hill could hear Rescorla issuing orders through the bullhorn. He was calm and collected, never raising his voice. Then Hill heard him break into song:

Men of Cornwall stop your dreaming;
Can’t you see their spearpoints gleaming?
See their warriors’ pennants streaming
To this battlefield.
Men of Cornwall stand ye steady;
It cannot be ever said ye
for the battle were not ready;
Stand and never yield!

Thanks. That brought tears to my eyes. I suspect, if you look up Hero’ in the dictionary, there must be a picture of Rick Rescorla accompanying the definition.

I have photos somewhere of the memorial to Lt Rescorla located at Ft. Benning.

Here is one pic of it:

Sorry it took me a while to acknowledge your reply, but the reason I ask if anyone remembers Jeep-in-Mazar (sp?) is that he supposedly picked that name because when he left Afghanistan in late 2000 or early 2001 he had been forced to leave his Jeep in the town of Mazar which I believe was controlled by the Northern Alliance guerillas.

Anyway, he was on a thread the day before 9/11 where we were discussing the assassination of Ahmad Shah Massoud, “the Lion of Panjsher”, the leader of the Northern Alliance who had fought the Soviets, and then the Taliban and by extension Bin Laden. He was assassinated by two Al Quedda posing as journalists on the 8th of September although at the time it was not known who his assassins were.

Within hours of the killing, the ruling Taliban officials named Bin Laden as Minister of Defense, Plenipotentiary, in effect bringing him into their government. Jeep-in-Mazar was insistent that this was not just a reward for the assassination but a sign of the merging of bin Laden’s group with the Taliban and bigger things to come. All of this within hours of 9/11.

As I recall, I looked back one time and went through the 9/11 threads before some were lost and it was 18 minutes after the first tower being hit that THIS forum had posters talking about Bin Laden by name and it took about a week for the stupid Lame-stream Media to bring it up and tell America who did this vile killing.

To: Texas Fossil; HAL9000

It is actually HAL9000’s thread, five hours before the planes hit WTC where in post 3 he stresses Osama bin Laden’s involvement.

This thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/520166/posts

There were two other threads about the Lion’s assassination
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/519722/posts
and
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/519398/posts?q=1&;page=1

both also posted by the ever knowledgable HAL9000

I don’t know what thread I remember the Defense Minister from, it has been 16 years and I am getting old. But JeepInMazar (correct screen name) was on two of them and he has been away from the forum since 2009.

He was very involved in Bibles for Afghanistan even before 9/11.

HAL9000 is and was a genius.

Thanks for info.

I knew there was discussion long before 9/11/01.
