The thing that amazes me is that people who live in places like Florida where there is the distinct possibility of significant power interruptions due to storms, don’t have a standby generator at home in a place where it isn’t likely to be flooded and where you can run it. And better than a gasoline or diesel powered one, get one you can run on propane, because liquid fuels can gum up the engine if they are allowed to sit for any length of time.

The best ones run on either natural gas or propane. If you have a gas line, the gas is much less likely to be interrupted than electricity and if it is then you can hook up the Propane.
