I think the Jim Comey letter of Oct 29th was a staged event between Comey and Hillary that backfired (with Trump's victory).

Here's my reasoning: Trump was closing in during the final days and Hillary need a "bump" to carry her to victory on Election Day.

So the plan was to have Comey suddenly reopen the investigation only to slam it shut once and for all days later. This was calculated to give Hillary the necessary bump just when she needed it most.

But it turned out to be not enough.
