Paris was awarded the 2024 summer Olympics and Los Angeles the 2028 Games on Wednesday, as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) broke with decades of tradition to vote on a unique double allocation.
Paris, which has hosted two previous Olympics, will stage the event 100 years after its last Games in 1924 while Los Angeles will also organize its third Games after 1932 and 1984.

Wasn’t that one of The One’s big disappointments when he personally tried to bring a Games to Chicago and failed to convince the IOC of such a grand idea?
Did anyone else even want it?
The nice thing about 2024 is that we won’t be paying Miguel Cabrera 100,000 for each strikeout anymore.
I can't vouch for the veracity of the article I read but it said, no, Paris and LA were the only cities vying.
how many been killed in that city since Chicago lost the Olympics?
A big part of the reason they decided to announce two sites at once is because these were the only two credible bidders on the horizon for the Summer Games. It has become such an expensive money-losing fiasco for many host cities/countries.
That would be the Olympics featured in the 1980 movie Chariots of Fire, Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams.

There definitely won’t be any 2028 games!

And why did St. Louis get passed over?
Isn't it their turn again?

They didn’t call him ZERO for nothing. Okay, I guess they actually did. LOL
The M & M Games! Muslim Games in Paris. Marxist Games in L.A.
They traditionally only award one at a time to spread the bribes out. Sounds like somebody got greedy and wanted more than their slice of the pie.
Thanks for the info. Paris and LA were the only two contenders remaining. Maybe they thought if they waited to award the 2028 nobody (or at least nobody else) would apply.
