At first glance, nothing differentiates Vernetta Robinzine from passers-by in the Beverly neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side. On a recent evening, like most people on a workday, she donned business casual attire with a loose, bright blouse. But her daily wardrobe includes something unseen that gives her confidence.
Robinzine, 51, is a gun owner with a concealed carry license. Since she received her permit in late spring, she carries her firearm wherever she goes.

"It's like a part of me now," Robinzine said with the smile.
Data show Robinzine is part of a burgeoning group in Cook County: black women obtaining concealed carry permits. Since Illinois began issuing licenses in 2014, the number of African-American women receiving a permit in Cook County has grown every year.
About 800 black women got a license in 2014, according to Illinois State Police. So far in 2017, nearly 1,400 black women have received a concealed carry permit — already more than all of 2016. In all, more than 4,000 black women have received a concealed carry license in Cook County.

Good for them. Smart thinking on their part. And as long as they stay away from young black males between 13 and 30 - they stand a great chance of not being killed.
OH Great! Now the black on black shooting rates will really start to climb. Pretty soon they will have to start bussing in targets from Gary if the trends continues. Hope those with the new permits never have to use them.
The Black innocent have been the victims of the communist leadership in Chicago. My heart goes out to them. Chicago should be under marshal law as we speak. It is more dangerous in Chicago than Kabul Afghanistan. FAR MORE!! I wouldn’t go to Chicago to change planes. What sewer.

Yep. These women may lawfully carry.
But then when their son “borrows” the gun from momma, then gets into a little action - the death rate in Chicago will continue to climb.
And officials won’t know why. But they will blame Trump.

One of the driving forces (near the top) of my support for individual rights to own weapons, is based on Black women in ghetto neighborhoods.
Hell, I’d hate to live there without being able to protect myself, and some of these women have kids they do try to care for and raise properly.
They should be able to protect themselves and their children.
When Leftists try to outlaw small inexpensive guns, often times they are acting to disarm these very woman.

I think Black women are very sexy. In Florida there are some very hot lookin’ Black women—all ages. But they don’t like me. Cuz I’m old and white. I’m in great shape, no meds. Exercise all the time. Nonsmoker. Really sucks.
Like you, I am very pleased the black women of Chicago are being proactive about being able to keep and carry guns. I love to shoot targets but I also live in an area without any police presence. After much soul searching I know I will have no trouble shooting a home invader. I have read about how badly other people have been hurt by home invaders. That is not going to happen to me or those I love. Basically,
My home may be an “attempted home invasion” but no one will enter without my express permission. I have taken a number of personal defense courses and feel I am about as prepared as I can be. And I shoot as often as I can.
Thank God for the Second Amendment and thank God women are learning to shoot and defend themselves and those they love.
