Why do you keep saying "seven"? The excerpt said SEVERAL (years prior to 2016). Assuming "several" to mean 3, maybe 4, that would have made the now 18-year-old guy 13 or 14 at the time of the alleged rape. I just explained all that to you.
You can be sure that the defese will hire some sort of child psychologist/psychiatrist who specializes in diagnosing and treating kids who've been abused.The sessions with that person will surely be videotaped and,if they're deemed to be convincing,they'll be played for the jury.
I have zero problems with vigilantism IF it is applied to those who deserve it.
This story is poorly written and confusing at best.
I love Florida for many reasons, but great journalism and crime rates appear nowhere in that list.
But, considering the consequences, why not at least give the police a chance to look into it first? If the 18-year-old had committed the rape (several years prior to 2016), I'm sure they would have gotten him to slip up in the interrogation and implicate himself, or at least open the door for further investigation. And if they had come to the conclusion that he did indeed do it, but, for one reason or another, weaseled out in charging him, then it would make more sense for her to have taken the law into her own hands.
If justice system doesn’t work, then I don’t blame the 6 year old’s mom for meting out justice.
My friend’s 8 yr old was beaten, raped, strangled unconscious with her own shoelaces, tied in a blanket and dumped off a dock to drown. 2 jury trials, all state and Fed appeals up held conviction of DP, our RINO Lame Duck gov won’t sign the death warrant.
She and I will gladly go pump him full of those chems. 20 + yrs waiting for justice.
You live in TN vote Mae Beavers for gov. She believes in using the DP. Rest like amnesty or are establishment DC congress critters, or nobodies.
Wow! What a despicable POS that guy was. However, it might actually be better that he’d be spending most of his life in prison. Inmates don’t often take too kindly to child rapists and child killers. Main problem with this of course is that someday the dirt bag may be free again. So, in my best scenario, I’d prefer he spent 20 years in prison before they executed him. And make his life as miserable and frightening as possible until that day.

We must temper our thirst for justice with common-sense.
There have been innumerable cases of people lying about rape/sexual assault unfortunately.....If indeed he hurt a child, screw him.
...then again, as much of a sick lowlife coward that he was, he probably would still have made some friends in prison, enjoyed various privileges, and had a bunch of good days there (without fellow inmates attacking or harassing him). Also, your friend and all of we taxpayers would have to pay the bill for it.
Sounds to me like the guy (child raper) died from natural causes.

Hopefully, her attorney(s) will try to fill the jury box with people like YOU and ME. If there was good evidence... I would vote not guilty. Why? Simply because if someone hurt one of my girls that way... I’d be sitting in her same chair. Today’s justice system would make a plea deal that he served little or nothing... thus, no real justice.

Well, you should have linked to this earlier. Because none of the excerpts posted on this thread clarified the daughter’s current age, or that the year that the alleged rape took place was 2011. Only reference I caught said “several” years prior to 2016. And, to me, several means 3, perhaps 4, not 5. In any case, there was no absolute time line posted on this thread prior to this.

Moreover, I believe the point you may have originally been trying to make was that the guy was old enough back then to know what he was doing. And my underestimation of what “several” meant put his age at 14 or 13 at the time of the alleged rape. So if 11 was old enough, obviously 14 or 13 would have been.

So the girl was 6 when the rape allegedly happened. She’s 13 now. The guy is (was) 18. That means the kid was 11 when the alleged rape happened.
The woman took justice into her own hands, 7 years after the fact. She told multiple people she was going to kill the kid for months. There is no first-hand account from the daughter. Even if there was evidence that he raped the girl, I think this woman is going to go to prison regardless, for a long time. Her mentally retarded brother was killed because of her, and an 18 year old just out of high school.
The fact that no one called the police, and there’s no information that the daughter told anyone else, I don’t necessarily believe this woman’s story. It is strange, there’s a ton of critical information needed to make a judgment. But if I had to guess, I would guess she is found guilty of murder 2, and gets at LEAST 10 years. Or pleas down and gets 5-7. But her brother was killed too, and depending on forensics who KNOWS what happened? Maybe she killed them both and is lying about it.
Yea, this is terrifying. People like them ARE ON JURIES!
They see a headline and are just like ya the 18 year old kid was guilty of raping a child because the mom said the daughter said it happened when she was 6, making the 18 year old 11 at the time!
Totally justifiable premeditated murder. /s
