So, all NeverTrump FReepers who piled on previous threads can now put on their dunce caps and go sit on the Jeb end of the stage

It could be that the heard us and changed directions. Question is what did he find to hold over Ryan?

Whats the point of passing a bill in the House which then doesn't pass in the Senate?
We still end up with no wall, no?
Already illegal immigration crossings are up three times since this talk of amnesty for DACA started.

Knowing which Senators oppose it, replacing them, and getting the wall.

If Paul Ryan passes border funding, how is it his fault if the Senate stops it?

How many times did he repeal ObamaCare? Not his fault Obama Wouldn't sign it, so whose fault was it when he couldn't send the same repeal bill to Trump who would sign it?

All political B$.

When he doesn’t pass it, it’s his fault.

When he passes it, it isn’t.

Pretty simple.

Mitch McConnell needs to do away with the filibuster rule which is unconstitutional or crazy Schumer will continue to dictate policy with just 8 votes.

That was put very succinctly. IOWs, we learn from this man every day. The ARt of the Deal is playing out constantly.

Nope, not unless he follows it up with other good moves. He has proven untrustworthy already. This is too late in coming.

"proven untrustworthy" = "after fulfilling hundreds of promises he dared make a deal with the Democrats to get Harvey/Irma funding through ASAP".

This is why conservatives always lose.

Number one, you either support corrupt scumbags like McCain, Romney, George W. Bush, for whom you make countless excuses over. OR you support "hard line" ideologues, who aren't hardline at all, like Ted Cruz and Breitbart's BS about his "he never voted for H1B increases! He never wanted to legalize illegals!" (even though he wanted to triple it and to grant all illegals permanent residency) immigration stances.

Basically you're almost totally useless! It's a damn good thing that the base of Trump's support ISN'T these "conservative" ideologues. They're regular people with common sense, not howling at the moon over Free Trade.

I'm waiting for them to change the Senate rules the first time the Dems do not contribute to passing President Trump's agenda. I'm betting the kitchen sink on it.

Now, don't forget....it makes the Dems look like wonderful, cooperative human beings when they support "things that must be done"....like the ceiling and hurricane funding.

Immigration MUST be done along with budget and tax cuts.

My guess is that the Democrats know that if they vote for funding the wall in the Senate, Trump will sign the DREAM act.

They can’t be explicitly linked in public, but I’d guess that Paul Ryan knows they’re linked (and he wants to pass the DREAM act too).

Trump is probably insisting on the border wall funds (and mandatory E-Verify) before he’ll agree to sign the DREAM act.

Trump is depending on Democrat votes in the Senate to get the border wall, and I suspect they’ll vote for this, knowing Trump will then approve the DREAM act.

Neither side can get what they want without cooperating, and it’s a classic political trade-off. Trump gets the wall, Democrats get the DREAM act, and Paul Ryan looks like he can get things done in the house (the 2018 elections are coming :)

Great post.

>> I have NO FAITH that he is doing this for the right reason.

Agreed.

>> The people of Wisconsin wanted him again so we’re stuck with him for a while longer.

Yeah, that state has some ballsy Democrat thugs that will be victorious except for the fights that wake up the neighborhood.

To get Ryan to do this what is the cost? Amnesty? No way, not worth it.

I got a feeling you are correct. Amnesty is just a stones throw around the corner. This is all one big smoke and mirror play. I will sit back and hold my final cutting blow but have that feeling, the amnesty train has left the building and ain't going to be stopped.

I’m watching Jack Posobiec’s periscope on this now. He says the talks were exclusively about the new (expanded) DACA amnesty bill. The wall was agreed not to be part of the act or discussions.

Trump apparently has rolled over on this completely. Giving them DACA+ without any wall funding, Raise Act, etc.

He says his sources are guys in the WH—and that 80% of those in the WH never voted for Trump, but were Jeb voters and the like.

So Ryan got permission from El Tortuga to go through the charade of funding the wall. The bill will die in the Senate unlike McCain who will be the instrument of it’s death. That is why the rush all the sudden so the dead man walking can give us his legacy of no wall. All staged theater.
